  SHOULD YOU STOP WORKING YOUR 8 TO 6 JOB? It depends on your current status in life, what you are doing and maybe what you have. Starting a business aside your 8 to 8 job maybe tiring. Getting your business to the next level may need all your attention and focus which calls to you leaving your 8 to 8 job. I personally don’t support the idea of leaving your 8 to 8 job but sometimes you have to. You will have to sacrifice all you have for that idea or dream. So it’s always up to you to choose, either to stop the 8 to eight job or continue with it. Sit down and think critically, examine yourself and making sure everything is in place.   Once a scholar set out to look for Islamic knowledge, but before he traveled, he asked his father who was also an Imam in their town to look for a wife for him before he gets back. The scholar went and years passed by. He finally made his mind to come back home. All his family were happy he has come back. With haste, he asked his father where his wife was. He was shown to his wife but he didn’t seem happy. He said to his father, “after my years out there in search for knowledge, look at the kind of wife u got for me”! He was very angry because he saw the wife not to be that beautiful. So night came and they went to bed. During the middle of the night, the ugly wife tried waking the scholar up but he refused. So she sprinkled water on the scholar, he woke up and tried to shout at her but she read the hadith of the prophet Muhammad SAW saying, when a husband or wife wakes his half up for Tahajjud prayer, Allaah will grant them His Mercy.   Sultan Mahmoud had a servant whose name was Ayyaz and was well known for his good manners and wisdom. Once, Sultan Mahmoud was holding a precious jewel in his hand while sitting with his ministers. He told one of the ministers to break the jewel. Since the jewel was very expensive, the minister refused to break it. Then the Sultan told another minister to break it. He also denied to break the jewel. One by one all the ministers refused to break the precious Jewel due to its great value. Now, Sultan Mahmoud passed the jewel to Ayyaz and told him to break it. Ayyaz immediately took the stone to his hand and threw it hard on the floor. The jewel scattered into pieces. The Sultan asked Ayyaz why he broke the jewel while others denied to do so.   This story about “Istighfar” is from the life of Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal, who is considered as a renowned scholar of Islam and a famous theologian. Imam Ahmad is also considered to be the founder of the Hanbali School of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and is one of the most celebrated Sunni theologians, often referred to as the “Sheikh Ul-Islam” or the “Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah.” During his old age, while Imam Ahmad was travelling he stopped by a town. After the prayers, he wanted to stay for the night in the masjid yard because he didn’t know anyone in the town. Owing to his humility, he hadn’t introduced himself to anyone thinking that if he did, he would be welcomed by many people.
